Dr. James Hoffmann
Veterinarian
Dr. Hoffmann received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1990 from the University of Missouri - College of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing as an associate in Murray, Kentucky and Greenbrier, Arkansas, Dr. Hoffmann moved to Searcy and opened Westside Veterinary Clinic in 1992.
In 2011, Dr. Hoffmann became Board Certified in Canine and Feline Practice by the ABVP (American Board of Veterinary Practitioners). His professional interests include internal medicine, diagnostic testing, and preventative care.
Dr. Gela Nelson
Veterinarian
Dr. Nelson is a 1987 graduate of Conway High School. She received a Bachelors degree in Biology from UCA in 1991. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University's School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 and has been a vital member of our clinic since 2002.
Dr. Jonathan Jenkins
Veterinarian
Dr. J. Paul Jenkins brings more than 20 years of veterinary experience to Westside Veterinary Clinic. A graduate of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, he completed his undergraduate studies at Arkansas State University and the University of Arkansas.
Dr. Jenkins began his career in Clinton, Louisiana, and spent the past two decades serving the Vilonia community, where he became a trusted veterinarian and co-owner of Vilonia Animal Clinic. He is also actively involved in advancing the profession, serving on the Advisory Board for the Veterinary Technician Program at ASU-Beebe and previously as President of the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association.
At home, Dr. Jenkins enjoys life with a German Wirehaired Pointer, a Border Collie mix, a miniature Dachshund, and Olaf the tabby cat.
Crystal
Office Manager / Veterinary Assistant
Crystal has been a member of our clinic since 2001. She does a variety of work for us ranging from veterinary assistant work to managing inventory. She graduated from UCA in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Crystal is married with two boys. Her family has a passion for horses. They enjoy competing in and attending horse shows and rodeos. Crystal has many pets including horses, cats, and dogs. She likes working in a field that allows her to make a difference in the quality of life for animals.
Nathan
Animal Care Specialist
Nathan has been a member of our clinic since 2012. He is married with 3 children. His family moved to Searcy from Batesville to pursue another branch of ministry. Nathan is pastor of a local ministry outreach. He is passionate about music and can play 5 different instruments. He has 3 pets, a dog, Daisy, and two cats, Noah and Max. Nathan loves a variety of things about his position, including patient care and client interaction.
JoAnn
Animal Care Specialist
JoAnn has been a member of our clinic since 2014. She is married with one daughter and a step-son. She moved from Maine to Searcy, but spent time in Florida where she raised and showed silver Persian cats. JoAnn has many pets, including 3 cats- Pooh, Feetz, Lucy, a tortoise named George, a cichlid named Gunner, a beta named Dominic, and a snake named Conan! JoAnn enjoys staying at home, cooking, and watching movies. She has always been interested in working at a veterinary clinic. She is very passionate about all animals and enjoys caring for them and interacting with our clients.
Shauna
Receptionist
Shauna was previously employed at our clinic from 2000-2010 and has since worked for us beginning in 2015. She is married with 2 children. She enjoys spending time with her family doing a variety of outdoor activities—their favorite being camping. She loves singing and is the worship leader of her church. Shauna has many pets including cats, dogs, and horses. Shauna loves the diversity of patient care performed at our clinic.
